It did help me calm down some. It's relaxing. With a nice smell it kind of makes you want to breathe more, and breathing helps panic attacks, if it's a slow deep breathing. I'd imagine it'd help some. Best of luck with dealing with your panic attacks. Just remember that if you are sniffing a cloth to be sure to inhale enough oxygen with each breathe.
